I had to check out the new challenge on the wonderful polkadoodle blog and found they sell stuff too !!!!
i headed off there immediately as fast as my little fingers could run across the key board ! . i ordered the sugar birdies cd and thought i would top up my basket with a download - i am extremely impatient and like to get my crafting goodies immediately that i have paid for them .

i made this with the owl download and i am really pleased with how it turned out so i am entering it as my take on the challenge for this week .

my two for today

I made both of these today , despite the sweltering heat in my craft room .
I have jjust posted both on the lily -boo boutique dt blog .
i'm rather proud of the puppy pic cos i drew it myself ! . i drew it a few days ago on a note pad , which of course had lines all over it !.
i had to scan it into my computer , open it in paint and rub out all of the lines and then airbrush over the marks - after quite a while i got a result i was happy with - and unusually for me i saved it ! so there could be quite a few Hovis cards from me

Acetate card

This is for my daughter Patsy , she will be 7 on thursday ,she asked for a card with the little mermaid on . I thought it would be fun to make it on acetate ,with images on the inside as well as the outside to make it look like she is actually swimming in the water . The bubbles are papermania glitter spots. It was incredibly difficult to photograph, what with it being see through ! in the end i scanned itbut it has made it look like it has a white background . I decided to p[ost it anyway and then take a picture of Patsy holding it on her birthday and then i will post that too .

oriental card

I made this one to cheer myself up - I had been feeling a bit down lately, i'slipped a disc and was bed bound for a few days and then i had a few family troubles and did nt feel like making cards . todays sunny spells cheered me a bit so i made this .
I used happily ever after cart for the background cherry blossom shape . i used 3d foam on some of the flowers to lift the design . i designed the kimono myself and her hair is just a circle with a bit cut out . her head is from paperdolls and it is finished with peel off corners . i dont usually like peel offs but i had these in my box and i thought they suited the design .

handbag card

I used Wildcard for this one with various sizzix dies for the embellishments , oh and indie cart for those gorgeous lips the brief for this one was "a 21 st card for a real girly girl " . You cant get more girly than a leopard print handbag !

for some reason the gold on the card looks a bit holographic but it is nt - strange !

the card itself is handbag shaped although it looks like its just mounted on a white card

birthday with a view

This is for a friend of mine for her hubby.Every year they go away for a holiday on each other's birthdays and i always have to make the cards with the destination on somewhere.
This year they are staying at home - much to her dissappointment .So she asked me to do a card with them on a balcony with something tropical in the background - to make him feel guilty !
