 This is for my best friends - love ya loads so i know you wont mind me saying that the froggies look just like you !HE HE HE !
 I used paisley cart to cut these little guys , the lily pad was  my own design  as i could nt find one - thank goodness for my gypsy !

Princess Lily ,

I made this one using Paperdoll dress up , except the dress had to look like the one in the Disney "Princess and the frog" film,- i had to google that !
Out came the promarkers 'cos i could nt find matching paper -Im quite pleased with it  i also used them to colour the little frog .I am going to enter this one in The latest challenge at cricut cardz  they have an open theme this week a long as you use your cricut , this is the first time i have entered one of their challenges - hope they like it !

Polkadoodles challenge no 12

 Happy friday ! I cant believe how quickly this week has gone , maybe because i've had all week off work - back tomorrow though :(

I have managed to catch up on some stuff , some of it boring like housework and children's homework projects but also on some card stuff too
here's my Polkadoodles DT card for this week's challenge-we had to use  a sketch and were restricted to using black and white and one other colour .As i rather like the purple butterfly on the BTN cd, this was my choice . Of course i had to make it as a step card as i'm a bit addicted to them at the mo '!
I could see the stripes on the sketch as the steps to my card  so i just added an embossed border in matching purple card . You can't see it very clearly in the sketch ,but there is added glitter on the wings and gems as the butterflies bodies

I LOVE PROMARKERS

I'm gutted , i just realised that the deadline to apply for the  I love promarkers DT has passed , Now when i put things on my TO DO list ,I must 'nt forget to look at the list every day .
 I had just been so busy and now the month has nearly gone ,taking the deadline with it - Oh well there's always next time lol
I have joined in with their latest challenge which is to follow the sketch and have some sort of animal on it -( well mine's a chick but thats sort of an animal right ???)
It was such a cutie i could nt resist it !

I made it as an easel card using acetate as the background .

Since i just realised i have crossed two challenges for promarkers in the same card i am going to enter it in both !

Passion for promarkers  wants a spring theme and you have to include the animal i mentioned earlier !

I love promarkers has a sketch  with the twist of spots or dots

sorry I ve been awol !

 What a week ! it has been absolutely crazy here , I ve redecorated the front room , been up to my eyeballs in card orders (im not complaining ) and a couple of full days at work - i''m really not used to those -lol ,so now i'm knackered !

Ive had baby Sam a few times too , he's just at the stage where he's just about to laugh - he has the biggest smile and the sound is  trying really hard to get there - any day now he will have mastered it  and theres nothing more enjoyable than listening to a baby laugh , I cant wait it will be a  real tonic.

As i have been so busy i did nt get round to my DT cards  but i did  manage to do these two New home cards , one in my new fave style card- the side step   I used some of my old Sizzix dies for the house , tree and grass  and paperdolls for the girl and her baby .
For the other one i dusted off the old cricut  , I needed a thatched cottage  and found one on the disney Happily ever after cart .The family i cut from paper dolls and the various animals from animal kingdom and campout .
The words i used SCAL2  for ,I love this program for cutting words it just makes it so easy and you can cut in any font you have installed -and i have hundreds lol- its much cheaper than carts

A FEW COMMISSIONS

 i was commissioned  to make a few cards for a lady who had had cards from me in the past, i  really like the side stepper cards that seem to be appearing everywhere so i decided to make all of these in the side step style , i hope she likes them

POLKADOODLE CHALLENGE NO 10 - MILESTONE

I had to make a large card for one of our guys at work for his 40 th  that was big enough for us all to sign , he loves making and decorating celebration cakes so this cake template on the paper boutique cd from Polkadoodles was perfect .
Even better still it fitted in with this weeks challenge at Polkadoodles  where Fliss has asked us to make a card for a milestone birthday .

I have got some printer issues at the moment and my colours are not printing very brightly so i used the black and white template and used scraps out of my box. All forty candles were cut on the cricut and coloured with promarkers. It took a while to put it all together but it was definitely worth it - he loved it !

Polkadoodle challenge no 9 wings and stamping

Happy friday everybody !,
I had a really horrible customer at work the other day who took great pleasure in shouting at me and humiliating me infront of other customers ,colleagues , my boss and area manager , this lasted for 20 minutes by which time i was a nervous wreck and could nt do the simplest of things ! i did nt get any back up from my boss other than her saying he was an a***hole after he had gone -thanks for nothing ,i had worked that one out already !
It's a gorgeous ,if not a little chilly day here today , i think spring is on its way ! so i am in a happy mood now :)
I have made a little easel card for the latest challenge at Polkadoodles, we want to see what you can come up with using a wings theme and a bit of stamping.I have used papers and toppers from the "sugar birdies cd " and i stamped a little sentiment along the bottom

Shape card challenge for polkadoodles

Polkadoodles are launching a fantastic new cd this week called Paper boutique . it has some fantastic shaped card templates and a scrumptious collection of papers . I have nt used the shape templates this time but i have used papers and decorative elements from the funky flowers collection . I made a few of the template cards as samples for the tv launch and i forgot to take pictures before i sent them off ! DURRR !
I cut the letter shapes with my cricut using SCAL2 and then cut out the card shape around them.
I had nt made one of these fold out name ones for ages , and seeing as its only 3 letters long it did nt take too long :)

I ♥ ProMarkers challenge - spring theme and sketch

I am very lucky to have access to all of the images available at lilyboo's boutique
I thought this was a really cute image so chose her for my entry in this weeks
I ♥ ProMarkers challenge which has a spring theme and a sketch to follow . This was an extremely difficult card to photograph as i just could nt get a good shot of it , it was too bumpy for the scanner so did nt scan well either, this was one of about 50 attempts then i gave up !

POLKADOODLES CHALLENGE

This weeks challenge at POLKADOODLESis to use a sketch designed by Kris , and to include at least one bird . I spent far too long deciding which birds to go for , there are so many on the polkadoodles cds !
I eventually decided on these cool dudes from the not for girls cd .
I cut the wicked logo from INDIE cart on my cricut .some of the birds were pre coloured and others were coloured by me with promarkers

LITTLE PEOPLE

I had nt done any of these little people cards for a while and then i had to do 3
One is for a friend's son for his 16 th birthday , his only desire in life is to be a celebrity so he got a celeb style card .
The next is for a different friend ,for her husband who spends every spare minute of the day on the dreaded FACEBOOK! so of course he had to have a facebook card - i was gutted - they changed the layout the day after i copied it !

Finally this one is for a very stylish lady who loves to shop in M&S .

Hearts and flowers

Im a bit late with my posting this week , i have been proper poorly !
Thankfully i am all better now and can get on with all the cards i have on my list .
This is for the Polkadoodles challenge this week which is to use hearts and flowers . I had already made my valentine card for my hubby and did nt have a use for another so i made a wedding card instead.I used the new Love and Cherish CD , which has many different styles to choose from.Whatever your style there will be something to suit you .

Polkadoodles challenge -paper piecing

Our challenge this week at polkadoodles is to use the paper piecing tecnique . I have used several of polkadoodles cds for my card ,printing polly on to different patterns and reassembling.
polly was from jingle jangles , her wings were from back to nature .
the background and the alphabet were from sugar birdies and candy doodles .

Polkadoodles -orange and red

I had another hectic week this week , but this time something good has come out of it . My daughter has decided to move in with her boyfriend so there was a nice sized bedroom going begging ! Needless to say i dived straight in there and baggsed it for myself- so now i have a lovely new craft room . mind you i had to do all of the removals, and i did nt realise just how much paper i have !
I only just have the pc set back up again so i need to get straight back on to it.
Apologies, I have been a bit neglectful in my DT duties this week , as my PC was out of action for the best part of the week , I was forced to use the dodgy laptop that is so slow i nearly threw it up the wall a number of times . coupled with the broken N key i could nt possibly comment on all of the lovely projects that have been entered into the challlenges.

The challenge this week at polkadoodles is to use a sketch cleverly designed by our doodle dolly Enfys , we have also been asked to use any of polkadoodles cds and the colour scheme of red and orange. Here is my interpretation of that sketch

A busy busy week . . .

I have had a really strange week , it has been full of ups and downs , family dramas and being offered another exciting Dt position , I dont really know yet whether i am coming or going !
In between these highs and lows there was the occassional lull where i managed to get a chance to make some of the many cards on my list . here are just a few of them ....

My cards were on the telly !

I have just seen my cards on the telly ! , i am on the design team for POLKADOODLES and i had made some samples to promote the latest CD -"love and Cherish".Nikky Hall was on create and craft tv this morning to show off the cd and i saw some of my creations on the screen .The camera man lingered over my first one for quite a while and then i caught fleeting glances of a couple more . Later the presenter asked Nikky if one of mine was her's and she said yes-"no its not its my mum's " shouted my 7 yr old at the tv , i dont mind ,i ll take it as a compliment that she thought she'd made it !

polkadoodles challenge no 1

The first challenge of the year for polkadoodles is to use a song title on your card . us polkadoodledollies had to use the BTN cd too .There are some really gorgeous elements on this cd, i particularly like the little owls . I was going to do "owl always love you " by Whitney Hootston !
but i resisted since i used the owls in the last challenge , instead i used the beautiful butterfly from the heritage collection and did "love is like a butterfly"
The cardsdid nt photograph particularly well , you cant see the holographic embossing on the wings or the shape of the card . It has a fold back panel on the front so that you can see the papers on the inside even when the card is closed .i mounted the butterfly on my nesties circles .
i have treated myself to a photographic tent with lighting kit so hopefully i will be able to get some fantastic pictures of my work in the future

I am sooooooooooo happy !

My son and his girlfriend have just become parents , thus giving me my first grandchild- a beautiful baby boy !
He does nt have a name yet but he weighed 6 lbs 11 oz and was born today at 1.20 pm . i will post pics and update with his name as soon as i have them .
I am so very happy for them .
AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL !

POLKADOODLES - Back to nature new cd

The challenge for you over at POLKADOODLES is to use the brand new Polkadoodles Back to nature cd .
I have used the cute little family of owls which are already designed so that they can be easily decoupaged without having to worry about which pieces to cut off !
I made mine into a stair step card .
I have to say there are absolutely tons of images on this CD and i think it is my favourite one so far i had great difficulty in choosing which one to use first .

thank goodness i've finished the Christmas cards !

I dont know about anyone else ,but i have well and truly had enough of making Christmas cards !
I started in August and have made over 200 cards and all are individual one off designs . I did nt even scan a quarter of them so i dont have a record of them all.
I have just finished my last ones today and i did remember to scan them- thes were really challenging ones ,the first had to have my friend and her husband drinking mulled wine infront of a Gluvein hut ????? well i did nt know what one was either so i used artistic licence and made it a gingerbread house !
the next was for a spiderman fanatic- how on earth does one make spider-man christmassy i ask myself .I Used polkadoodles halloween paper added some stickles,I drew spider-man and addded blingy webs to him with a gel glitter pen and i used a sizzix die to cut the string of lights that he is swinging from.

then for the same young man i had to do Merlin from the BBC programme - something i had never seen so i had to go googling !i used PDDU cart to make their clothes and accessories and i was secretly pleased with how it turned out .

Im a polkadoodle-doodler !!!

I want to share my fantastic news with you all - I was picked to be a new design team member for Polkadoodles !<3
I'm not sure what our real name is -i will have to check that out but a polkadoodle-doodler sounds good to me !
I am just thrilled to have been asked to join them and have been on a high all week ,just bursting to tell !
I joined in with this weeks challenge which was to use an envelope and a new years theme . I used papers and numbers from the jinglejangles cd and I used some foiling on top to highlight parts of the design ,and to tie the bottle in .
The bottle is cut on the cricut and the envelope is in fact a fake one i made myself after spending hours trying to cut the perfect one and not liking anything i came up with.It would nt stand up to anything actually being put in it the front is only glued on around the edges .
My photography is not too hot i'm afraid so you cant really pick out the foiling on the paper- but it looks quite lush to the naked eye !

Mo's digital pencil challenge #6

I am feeling a bit sorry for myself today , ive got a cold and am feeling a bit rough . I have lots of cards on order to make and am not really in the mood to make them . I made this one yesterday for the 6 th challenge for Mo's digital pencil,
i have made several others which i will probably put on here later if i feel better

Anyway thats enough own trumpet blowing for today heres my latest creation , this time i am entering it in 2 challenges because they both have a sparkly theme
. I am entering it in Bella and brontes challenge blog
and also in design team colleague Katies challenge blog "cooking it up with Katie"
The image is from Mo's digital pencil and i have coloured it with my favourite pens -Promarkers !
i love how the colours on the bauble all blended together to give it a mother of pearl effect. i have also given it a wash with a sakura glitter pen so it looks really pearly in real life . The photo just does nt do t justice at all (oops im trumpet blowing again ) - but trust me it is really pretty

Dotties world challenge

I made this this week for a colleague to give to her best friend who is going to be 60. She is off to celebrate with a safari in Kenya ( lucky devil) , anyway i remembered i had this image from charmed crafts so i printed and coloured it twice and layered it up with a hand drawn frame around it and matted onto some leopard skin effect paper. I added a little 60 ,camouflaged under a bush so that it is nt prominant on the card and my colleague was thrilled with it . Apparently this looks just like her friend !
whilst looking through my bloglist ,i saw that the latest challenge at dotties world is to make a card with a foreign theme , so this card was just perfect for it as the image is one of theirs

POLKADOODLE CHALLENGE

DUH !i just realised that i am now too late to enter this in the challenge , i was so excited about my win at i love promarkers that i forgot to upload this one for polkadoodles ! any way it was for a friend to give to her husband's friend for his 50 th and seeing as mens cards are so awkward to do , i thought i would show it anyway . I hand cut the car using a photo of Pauls car as the template , he loves the car more than his wife i am told ,so he should lke it !

It was the "I love promarkers challenge #4" i saw a few days ago that i was one of the finalists and i have been on tender hooks since then waiting to see who 's card letraset had chosen as the winner , now i am grinning like an idiot :)

Passion for promarkers challenge

The challenge this week over at Passion for promarkers is to use the colours canary yellow and grass , This is probably a bit out of my comfort zone as the colours are not my favourites by any means , but i thought i would give it a go anyway .
